Example: A basic message, step by step

In this example, we are going to create an email message to announce our Spring sales.

We will showcase three different options (note that more options are possible) :

1 Email Create an email from scratch in the Responsive Design Editor
2 Template Create a template by importing existing HTML and personalize content in the Wysiwyg Editor
3 Template Create a template from scratch in the Responsive Design Editor

What's the difference between 'emails' and email 'templates' ?
Emails can be created from scratch or copied from existing messages. You have full access to all components and content elements and can design the email exactly as needed.
They can be sent out through Single Batch Journeys, Single Batch AB Journeys, Recurring Batch Journeys, Custom Journeys (graphical journey builder) and Transactional Journeys.
Templates are typically predefined email layouts that can be used by marketers for email blasts. A template's layout and content is created and configured once by the template creator. They can decide to lock some elements in the template and not allow changes to these areas when the template is used to send out email messages.
However, other unlocked elements can still be modified by the user applying the template. For instance, the marketer can add additional elements to content placeholders, modify the properties, use different mail domains, change images, etc.
And then use these templates to send out email messages through Single Batch Journeys.
